MARK DEWAR 25-5-1984 to 30-8-2002 Sadly missed
Mark Dewar came to the club as a keen and enthusiastic youngster and it wasn't long before he was pushing his way into the Under 18 and Under 21 sides. He made his debut as a substitute at Princess Royal Park, Banff, in a League match against Deveronvale on January 13th 2001, and the following week was in the starting line-up against Clachnacuddin at the Bellslea Park. He was fondly known as "Donald" to all his team mates and his enthusiasm in company was infectious. He seemed to have a permanent smile and nothing seemed to be too much bother for him. Even a battle against diabetes didn't deter him and the way he bounced back from that was an example to everyone at the club. We will all miss Mark in some way or other but winning a Championship medal enabled him to achieve a personal goal in the short time he was at the club. Nobody will ever know how big a contribution Mark would have made at Fraserburgh FC but we can all look back and know that he always did his best and gave more than was ever asked of him.
